About Us

American Workforce Group, Inc. is a leading provider of staffing and recruiting services in Southwest Washington and Oregon from our offices in Longview, Olympia, Vancouver, and Tacoma, WA. We specialize in light industrial, skilled trades and administrative staffing and recruiting. AWG offers contract staffing services, but most of our business is temporary-to-hire, largely because the quality of our candidates motivates employers to add them to their team.

How It All Began

In January 2013, our Cowlitz location was founded by owner and president Julie Nelson. Her experience in the staffing industry, recruiting expertise and commitment to the community made starting her own firm the logical choice. AWG has since added locations in Thurston, Clark, and Pierce Counties. Business has been booming ever since!

Community is important to American Workforce Group. We find every opportunity available to give back to the areas where we live and work. Just a few examples of how we contribute through time and donations:

  • We belong to local Chambers of Commerce to be a positive force in the business community.
  • The AWG Pay It Forward Program was launched in 2018 as a means for employees to partner with AWG in contributing to the community. In this 100% voluntary program, employees can contribute what they choose to a fund for fellow employees who need things like boots or prescription safety glasses.
  • AWG leads or participates in various fundraisers and drives throughout the year, such as March to Employment and other charitable events. Find the location closest to you to learn what’s going on in your community.
