About Us
American Workforce Group, Inc. is a leading provider of staffing and recruiting services in Southwest Washington and Oregon, with offices in Longview, Olympia, Vancouver, and Tacoma, WA. We specialize in light industrial, skilled trades, and administrative staffing and recruiting. AWG offers contract staffing services, but most of our business is temporary-to-hire, largely because the quality of our candidates motivates employers to add them to their team.

Our internal staff treats each customer and candidate like their only priority. We take a hands-on approach to each interaction, treating people like individuals and customizing our process as needed. Employers can save time without sacrificing quality. Our recruiters’ experience and attention to detail ensure consistent results in temporary and temp-to-hire staffing and direct hire recruitment.

We do more than provide staffing and recruiting services; we care about our candidates as individuals. We know that it’s never just a job. It’s a means to provide for their families and grab their piece of the American Dream. Our biggest motivator is the personal stories we hear from people who have been able to reach their goals and live their dreams thanks to our help.

How It All Began
In January 2013, our Cowlitz location was founded by owner and president Julie Nelson. Her experience in the staffing industry, recruiting expertise, and commitment to the community made starting her own firm the logical choice. AWG has since added locations in Thurston, Clark, and Pierce Counties. Business has been booming ever since!

Community is important to American Workforce Group. We find every opportunity available to give back to the areas where we live and work. Just a few examples of how we contribute through time and donations:
- We belong to local Chambers of Commerce to be a positive force in the business community.
- The AWGÂ Pay It Forward Program was launched in 2018 as a means for employees to partner with AWG in contributing to the community. In this 100%Â voluntary program, employees can contribute what they choose to a fund for fellow employees who need things like boots or prescription safety glasses.
- AWG leads or participates in various fundraisers and drives throughout the year, such as March to Employment and other charitable events. Find the location closest to you to learn what’s going on in your community.

🆕 We like working with American Workforce and appreciate the hard work you guys do in finding candidates. We know that it is difficult finding workers that want to put in the work. We deal with 6 different agencies and we always end up getting more employees from American Workforce. The biggest obstacle we face is people showing up on there first day. Then it comes down to can they do the work on day two and day three, as the first three days are always the hardest.
