After seeing a post on a JBLM spouse page, she applied, interviewed, and soon found herself stepping into a recruiting assistant role. The transition wasn’t always easy. Moving into an office environment and adjusting to a new level of accountability was challenging, and Ivy is refreshingly honest about those early growing pains.
But one thing was clear early on: Ivy wanted more. She wanted to learn, grow, and become a recruiter, and she put in the work every single day to make that happen. Through curiosity, persistence, and a willingness to learn from everyone around her, Ivy earned her next opportunity and began building a career she hadn’t even imagined for herself.

A turning point came when Ivy picked up the phone and made her first sales call, and everything clicked. That moment sparked a passion for building relationships, connecting with clients, and helping grow the office. When the team needed support and jobs were scarce, Ivy didn’t wait for direction, she took action, landed job orders, and proved she was ready for more responsibility.
That drive ultimately led her into business development and, later, into her current role as an Assistant Branch Manager. Ivy’s path wasn’t always comfortable, but it was fueled by a genuine desire to contribute, improve, and help AWG succeed.
